That's it, I made it. I did it!

Year one of homeschooling complete (sort of) lol- this was the first year I had a school aged kiddo!

It had its highs, lows, tears and laughs. I wanted to briefly share a few reflections I have from this last year. The good the bad and the ugly!

First off-as a homeschool family we chose this year to use an amazing resource located here in Omaha. This program allowed us to partner with educators in order for Roman to still attend classes 2xs a week! However this is done with the understanding that I the parent am still solely responsible for his education. It is a Christian based academy and we were so blessed to have been accepted in this years round of applicants. So I did get a lot of help in regards to Roman learning plans this year.

Here are the good things: I was able to play the majority role in Romans learning process this year. This is a major conviction we have as a family.

This academy provided such a fun, God centered community to learn from and lean on.

I watched Roman blossom and grow so much. From making new friends to figuring out his role in the classroom in how he can help his friend and teachers with compassion and kindness.

Now on to what I would consider the ugly or what I would have done differently:

This list isn't long, but to be honest I probably would have not stressed as much as I did in the beginning. It's hard to remember that each child learns at a different pace and at the end of the day I have the freedom and permission to edit and adjust my education plan to fit Roman and what his current needs are.

I can honestly say it's been an amazing full full full year! So blessed and thankful as a family we get the honor and privilege to choose for our children.
